WIP Wednesday: A Duffel Coat Update!

Surprisingly I have actually got some progress to show you :). I managed to get out to my local knitting group last night which afforded me a couple of hours of quality knitting time along with chatting with some of my favourite people.... Knitters (& crocheters obviously!!).  In addition to this time, I was also a passenger in a car journey that took a couple of hours today so perfect for some nice garter stitch.

I've now completed the back (as you saw last week) as well as the two fronts and have started on the hood:

To knit the hood you knit across one front, cast on back of neck stitches and then knit across other front.  I then have to knit garter stitch for so many cm.
I used a backwards loop cast on which I really don't like using as it's always really untidy when I do it but as the back piece will be joined to it, I think it will be okay.  I really like the construction of this little cardy and really hope he'll still fit into it by the time I eventually finish it.

I do still enjoy working with this yarn, but I also have my eye on some rather nice blue in my stash that I'm hopefully going to do the next size up in if this one works out :)

Obviously, I still have the bee, helicopter, my socks and son3's socks all still on the needles and hooks but I'll get round to them eventually ;)
